DigiTrans

DigiTrans is a fiber optic transmission system for digital signals. It allows the transmission of digital signals (e.g. TTL) over long distances and also provides the necessary isolation for high voltage and high power applications.

The unidirectional connection is build up of a transmitter and a receiver module. On the transmitter input a TTL signal up to 10 MBit speed is connected to the BNC plug and then converted to an optical signal by a highly efficient optical LED. It is fed into a plastic fiber cable of up to 500m length. The optical signal passes the transmission path without any distortion. At the receiver site the optical signal gets converted back to an electrical TTL level high power pulse, the output connector is a BNC plug again. The output pulse can be configured to either standard or inverted signal level; the pulse width is manufacturer programmable in a wide range, typical 15us. Both, transmitter and receiver come in a high-frequency-shielded metal case and may be operated either via accumulators or external power supplies.
